Republic of Thieves by Scott Lynch

Republic of Thieves is the third in the Gentleman Bastards Sequence by Scott Lynch. Following on from the gloriously-titled The Lies of Locke Lamora and Red Skies Over Red Seas, the series follows Locke Lamora and his colleague Jean Tannen, the last remaining members of the eponymous Gentleman Bastards, a collective of thieves specialising in deception and the long con. Grave Peril by Jim Butcher

Yep, another Dresden Files book, number three in the series. You can read my reviews of books one and two here and here. My enjoyment of those should make it clear why I went for book three of the series.

Aim of this blog

Technically this isn’t my first time having a blog, because I have a Tumblr account, and I used to have a Livejournal (oh Livejournal). This isn’t a mission statement, because I wouldn’t do something so grand. Really, no one should actually read this, because it’ll be hidden way down at the bottom of the blog, and why would you want to scroll all the way down there. This is basically just a way of breaking the hymen of this place (so to speak) by writing down what I plan to write about.

I basically decided that I quite enjoy writing about stuff, so I’m going to do that. Over the last few months I’ve been fortunate enough that the good folks at Second City Fanatics and D-Pad Magazine have given me the chance to write my own brand of nonsense about the NFL and gaming respectively, but like any aspiring arch-villain I’m looking to expand. Over the last couple of years I’ve kept track of all the books I’ve read and published 6-monthly updates on that, with brief reviews, but I’m now planning to write an actual review for each book I read.

I’ll also probably sprinkle some crap onto this page about other stuff I enjoy, mainly thoughts on TV shows, films and sports.

So yeah, that’s it.

Also, I found my old Livejournal accounts. The most recent is 7 years old. Oh god. The horror. The horror.
